Brief Introduction

The Department of Accounting was established under the College of Management in 2000. The aim of our department is to train advanced accounting-related professionals with high-level knowledge and skills based on social needs such as the employment fields of various industries. Our department is the first Accounting department of public university in the mid-Taiwan region. The focus of the undergraduate courses in this department includes financial accounting, cost accounting, tax accounting and auditing. Our graduate school aims to train advanced accounting professionals. The Master’s degree program and EMBA program were launched in 2001. There are three hundred undergraduate students, forty students studying for the master degree, and sixty EMBA students.  

 

Student Career

After their graduation, some students go for the next stage academic degre. In the past few years, most of our graduates have started their career in the following area:

  1. Big Four accounting firms — Deloitte, KPMG, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) and Ernst & Young.
  2. Management consulting firms.
  3. Business enterprises or business firms.
  4. Governent institutions.
  5. Trading brokerages
  6. Universities
  7. Others

 

Educational Goals

  1. To foster accounting proessionals
  2. To help students learn from both academic theories and practice, and to cultivate their abilities of life time learning
  3. To foster students with global vision
  4. To help students understand code of morality and ethics
